Waterford police are seeking help identifying the meat theft suspect

WATERFORD – Police are asking the community to help identify a suspect involved in the theft of $73 worth of deli meats from the local Stop and Shop on Oct. 23.

According to Waterford Police, the person in question entered the supermarket, selected the meat and left without paying.

The suspect was then seen entering the passenger side of a vehicle, which is identified by its license plate number.

The department has reminded the public that when a vehicle with a visible license plate is involved in a crime, the following steps are taken: the license plate is noted, run through their system, and a follow-up investigation is conducted to identify the vehicle’s owner.

Tips can also be submitted privately through the department’s social media.

Authorities believe the suspect is from the area and are grateful for any assistance the community can provide, including sharing the police station to assist in the identification of the suspect.
