Rockford woman accused of stabbing 60-year-old man

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A man is fighting for his life after a stabbing Monday evening on Rockford’s northwest side.

Daphne Bell, 50, of Rockford, is charged with two counts of aggravated battery and obstruction of justice in connection with the case.

Around 10 p.m. on Oct. 28, officers were called to the 2800 block of Ashland Ave. Called for a report of a stabbing. Police say the victim, a 60-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital and is in serious condition.

Bell was later arrested and taken to the Winnebago County Jail where she awaits a detention hearing. She is expected to appear in court on October 30.
