Mrs Hodges, who founded the Downham Town under-13s girls football team, was perhaps used to tense moments in a match.

Although this time she was joined by a series of celebrities, who were all “kind and positive”, including singer Robbie Williams, who chatted with her after her performance on The Wheel.

“He was very nice and also very interested in the girls soccer team, which was a lot of fun,” she said.

She praised her parents, who were “great cooks”, for helping her with the eventual winning answer after she remembered them talking about herbs and spices.

When asked which of the four herbs had a distinct licorice-like flavor, she chose the correct answer: tarragon.

She said the pause before the unveiling was “very, very nerve-wracking”.
