Did Tim Walz have an affair with the daughter of a Chinese official? – First message

Thirty-five years before US Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, he was allegedly involved in a secret relationship with Jenna Wang, the daughter of a senior Chinese Communist Party official.

This affair is said to have taken place in the 1980s, while Walz was teaching in Foshan through the nonprofit WorldTeach.

Several reports now claim that the affair left Wang, now 59, devastated and suicidal. According to Wang, their relationship was marked by affection and dreams of a shared future, but ultimately ended in heartbreak that left her contemplating suicide, she said. The New York Post.

The revelation comes just days before the crucial showdown between Kamala Harris and former US President Donald Trump on November 5, with polls pointing to a tight race for the White House. The timing is also crucial as Walz faces criticism for claiming he was in Hong Kong during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests that left 500 dead.

The allegations against Walz

In a telephone interview with The mailWang revealed that she had fallen deeply in love with Tim Walz when he was a young high school English teacher in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China. She expected their passionate affair to culminate in a proposal in 1989, but instead it ended in heartbreak that led her to consider suicide.

Wang clarified that Walz was implying that he planned to marry her, saying, “I was deeply offended, hurt and I had to leave that place because many people knew we were in a relationship.”

After returning to the United States, he continued to send her letters throughout the summer, even asking for a passport photo, which she said indicated he was helping her obtain a visa.

“His lack of character, as a man, as a responsible person who has worked in education or in the military,” she added.

“I thought he loved me too. I loved him.”

‘I felt like I was being treated like a prostitute’

She wrote and shared in an ‘open letter’ The New York PostWang tried to warn Americans about Walz. She described their initial relationship as similar to that of a married couple, enjoying tea and holding hands in private to avoid her father’s scrutiny.

The young couple spent time singing karaoke, and Walz presented Wang with gifts, including gold jewelry and high-waisted jeans. However, Wang’s letter revealed that he later became “the type of man a mother warns her daughter not to get involved with.”

“While it is true that you had not promised marriage before coming back to China, marriage was what I had accepted,” she wrote.

“Marriage, too, was what you had led me to believe – and had led others to believe, including that female colleague of yours with whom we had tea.”

Wang recounted a disagreement the couple had over whether her feelings for Walz were genuine or if she just wanted a visa, which “shocked” her because she was willing to give up her entire life in China to join him in Nebraska to be.

“I gave up being with Tim, getting married and having a family,” Wang said Daily mail.

“Knowing he wouldn’t marry me made me feel cheap and mean, like I was being treated like a prostitute.”

‘Has no character for one of the most important jobs’

The couple never saw each other again, but Walz returned to China in 1993 to head an annual summer student program that connected high school students from Nebraska and Minnesota with Chinese institutions. He married Gwen Whipple after returning to the US in 1993, and they have two children together.

Now a teacher and translator in Europe, Wang felt compelled to speak out about what she called Walz’s “selfish” behavior and lack of transparency.

Now that Walz is the Democratic vice presidential nominee, she said, “This is a very pivotal moment in history and a man like this doesn’t seem to have the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world.”

As Kamala Harris’ choice as running mate, Walz is expected to face backlash in light of these allegations, which could further complicate the Democratic presidential nominee’s campaign, especially since she has already been drawn into controversial headlines due to the controversies surrounding her husband, Doug Emhoff.

Republicans are calling for an investigation

In light of the revelations about Tim Walz’s connections to Jenna Wang, Republican Senator Marco Rubio of Florida is calling for a thorough investigation.

He said Walz should be scrutinized because of his relationship with Wang, arguing that “voters deserve to know the full extent of the potential implications just days before the election.”

“If the story today in (The Daily Mail) is true, Tim Walz dated the daughter of a high-ranking Chinese Communist Party official and stayed in touch with her for years afterward,” Rubio posted on X.

“If you want to be vice president of the United States, voters deserve to know about every link you have to the CCP.

Rubio is vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and is also a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Furthermore, the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Accountability has asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for information about Walz’s connections to China. They expressed concern that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) could potentially exert influence over the White House if he were elected.
