Man shot in the head during Halloween party has died, police say

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – UPDATE: The man shot in the head during a Halloween party on Sunday, October 27 has died, according to Metro Nashville Police (MNPD).

Previous coverage: A man was seriously injured after being shot in the head during a shooting at a Halloween party last weekend, according to Metro Nashville police.

MNPD reports 29-year-old Joshua Burns is in extremely critical condition after the 1:15 a.m. shooting on Terragon Trail Sunday.

Police said Burns was taken to Southern Hills Medical Center by a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head. He was then taken to Skyline Medical Center where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

Investigation shows that shots were fired at the party before those present could take cover. The motive is still under investigation.

“Anyone with information or who attended the party is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous and are eligible for a $5,000 cash reward in homicide cases,” MNPD said.
