The Pittsburgh Steelers expect three players back after the bye week, including two rising stars

The Pittsburgh Steelers expected outside linebacker Nick Herbig, center Zach Frazierand Cordarrelle Patterson back from injuries for their Week 10 game against the Washington Commanders, sources tell PennLive.

Frazier is out of a boot and has begun rehabbing an ankle injury suffered against the Las Vegas Raiders. Fortunately for Frazier, the rod in his leg from a broken bone in his leg a year ago helped save him from serious injury. Instead, he will miss just two games.

Herbig has missed the last three games after suffering a Grade 2 hamstring injury against the Dallas Cowboys. However, the release of Ade Ogundeji indicates that the Steelers expect Herbig back soon. He is further along in his rehabilitation than currently expected and has had no setbacks in his recovery from the injury.

Patterson has missed the last four games due to a high ankle sprain against the Indianapolis Colts. He practiced on a limited basis last week, but will ramp up to full participation after the bye week. His return means the Steelers can utilize a full backfield for the first time since Week 3.

Pittsburgh also expects offensive tackle Dylan Cook and linebacker Tyler Matakevich back. They will likely open the 21-day window when cornerback Cory Trice returns, and there is optimism he could return for the Week 10 game as well.
