Student hospitalized after tree falls at KC area elementary school

KANSAS CITY – Law enforcement and school officials are investigating a crash that sent a student to the hospital.

On Tuesday afternoon, emergency services were called to Pleasant Hill Elementary School, 2097 Oak Park Boulevard, after a report of an accident, according to a police statement.

Several students were struck by a falling tree. One student was transported to hospital and several others were assessed by paramedics and school nurses. The school has informed the parents. The incident is under control and is being investigated. “Please keep the students and staff in your thoughts and prayers.”

Pleasant Hill is located approximately 35 southeast of Overland Park, Kansas.
