Red Dead Redemption only hit PC yesterday, and Modders have seemingly already broken time by introducing John Marston to GTA 6 and anime intros

The PC port of the original Red Dead redemption finally arrived yesterday, October 29th, and it seems like it barely took any time for the game to get the not-quite-lore-friendly modding treatment. Watch videos of John Marston watching anime and the GTA6 trailer in Armadillo’s old-fashioned movie theater.

Yes, just in case you missed itRockstar finally brought the original Red Dead to the platform this month, after several rounds of rumors fueled by things about the game being unearthed in several places, including Rockstar’s launch vehicle and the PlayStation Store.

What has been the result? Well, lots of anticipated nostalgia so far and, um, a video of John Marston getting excited for a trip to Leonida. He is also included in the intro to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Yes, two things that were definitely around in the early 20th century, but it’s okay, John doesn’t seem too phased.

Voice actor Casey Mongillo shared these brilliant clips and seems to be the one who decided to introduce RDR’s main character to modern media. They write that the first clip, in which Johnny Boy pays two dollars for a screening of NGE’s anime intro, was a “approximately three-minute mod”, and one that appears to merge two projects for which they provided voices, with both The re-dub of Red Dead and Neon Genesis Evangelion for 2019 is underway their CV.

They’ve also lent their dulcet tones to a slew of other games and shows, including Shin Megami Tensei V: Revenge, Starfieldand Delightful in Dungeon.

Mongillo’s impulse to give Marston the GTA6 trailer, and to have the cowboy randomly interject with lines like “amazing what money can do, isn’t it” which I hope is already in the game instead of being AI slop, it seems like people are on Twitter asked them that. We hope this means the process of adding new films like this is as simple as it seemed at the time, so we can enjoy snippets of Marston taking time out from chasing Bill Williamson and Dutch Van Der Linde to be blown away by random shows and trailers that he will canonically miss in a hundred years or so.
