Livingston County man accused of trying to meet teen for sex

LIVINGSTON COUNTY (25News Now– A judge on Tuesday ordered a Livingston County man to remain behind bars until he is tried for allegedly trying to meet a 15-year-old minor for sex.

Fairbury Police arrested Christopher M. Cox, 34, of Forrest. In a news release, police said Cox “made arrangements to meet this child for sexual purposes and ultimately met at a location in Forrest.” That’s where police said they arrested Cox shortly before 10 p.m. on Monday, October 28.

The Livingston County State’s Attorney has charged Cox with indecent solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child.

Online court records indicate Cox was in custody in a pair of theft cases in Livingston County at the time of his arrest.

His preliminary hearing on the latest charges is scheduled for Nov. 6.
