Jameson Williams’ attorney does not believe charges have been filed

The lawyer of Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams does not believe the former first-round draft pick will face criminal charges following an incident in which he and his brother were pulled over with weapons hidden in a vehicle.

Police are reportedly currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the speeding widely spread apprehended and eventually released without being arrested.

According to WXYZ TV“Late last week, the Detroit Police Department DPD filed a warrant with the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. Williams is charged with carrying a concealed weapon in a motor vehicle.”

Williams’ attorney told WJR Wednesday morning why he thinks his client is unlikely to face criminal charges.

“The gun is properly registered,” Flood said. “There is no problem with that. He is not the driver of the vehicle. His brother is. There was a CPL holder in the car. That immunizes the fact that standard practices and protocols are being followed, that would not be the case.” criminal charges are being filed.”

The Lions released a statement, revealing that the organization was made aware of the case shortly after the police interaction.

“Jameson immediately made us aware that he was a passenger during a routine traffic stop on October 8,” the statement said. “We have discussed the incident with him and have kept the league informed of what we know. We understand he was released without permission incident or quote. We now understand that Detroit police are re-investigating the case. Jameson has retained an attorney and out of respect for the legal process, we will have no further comment.”
