Wizz Air announces 44 new routes for the 2024-2025 season, including 14 in Romania

Low-cost airline Wizz Air started the 2024-2025 winter season with an extensive program and introduced 44 new routes in its extensive network. Fourteen routes were also added in Romania this week, nine of which were completely new routes and five were reopened.

This winter, Wizz Air will land at the newly opened airport in Salerno, Italy, adding unique destinations from more cities such as Krakow, Lisbon, Malmö, Marrakesh, Rome Fiumicino, Stuttgart and Trieste. In total, the airline will operate 141 routes across Romania during the winter season.

The company said it will offer 28 million affordable seats across its network, which is the largest offering of winter capacity since it began operations, serving Europe, North Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia. Nearly 5 million seats will be allocated exclusively to the Romanian market.

At the same time, Wizz Air also maintained an average CO₂ emissions of 52.6 grams per passenger/kilometer over the past twelve months.
