A Minnesota woman was arrested after police said she committed “a crime that city residents don’t often have to talk about.”

The 42-year-old woman was charged with cattle rustling, Bloomington Police Department Chief Booker T. Hodges said at an Oct. 24 news conference.

Police officers responded to a Bloomington farm around 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 9 “after a report of a man and a woman walking a dog and what appeared to be a sheep,” Hodges said.

The woman told officers she had purchased the ram, but Hodges said that “turned out not to be true.”

Police discovered the woman had dragged the ram away from the farm with the strap of a duffel bag, nearly suffocating it, Hodges said.

Video shared during the conference of the interaction shows the woman’s back covered in drills.

Hodges said they were “the same drills that are next to the farm.”

A farm employee confirmed to police that the ram, worth about $500, had not been sold to the woman, the Star Tribune reported.

Bloomington is located about 10 miles south of Minneapolis.
