Olivia Rodrigo was questioned by border police after being mistaken for a criminal

God, it’s brutal here.

Olivia Rodrigo says she was questioned by a Border Patrol agent after they mistook her for a criminal.

I spoke to Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Tonight Show’ The 21-year-old singer said she “got into trouble with the law for the first time” during her “Guts” world tour.

“We went from Canada to Portland or something,” she recalled. “We were at border control, I gave them my passport and they said, ‘Okay, whatever.’ And they knock on the door (of the tour bus) and say, ‘We need Olivia.’

She explained that the incident occurred while she was crossing the border from Canada into the United States. BACKGROUND

Believing that the officer probably just wanted an autograph for a family member, the “Vampire” singer emerged. However, she was then taken to an interrogation room where a ‘big cop’ with a ‘gun’ was present.

“It’s three in the morning and I’m delirious,” she noted.

“He says, ‘Have you ever been arrested?’ I say, ‘No, I haven’t been arrested.’ He says, “Are you sure?” I’m like gaslighting (myself). I’m like, ‘Oh my God, maybe I got arrested and didn’t know it.’

After being warned that she could go to jail for lying to a federal agent, Rodrigo recalled feeling “so scared” and “having a panic attack.”

But 30 minutes later, the officer looked at her intently and asked her to verify her name again.

“And I say, ‘Olivia Rodrigo.’ RODRIGO.’ And he says, ‘Oh, there’s a girl who looks just like you and your age, who’s been arrested multiple times, and her name is Olivia Rodriguez,'” she revealed before the crowd erupted in laughter.

However, that wasn’t the only accident that happened during Rodrigo’s world tour. Earlier this month, she fell through a trapdoor center stage during a performance in Australia.

Although she initially shrugged it off at the time, she told Fallon that “it was really scary.”

“It’s quite terrifying to see the video back,” she said of the incident, which took place at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena. “(But) I mean, the show must go on. That’s showbiz, baby.’

The singer also said she was taken to the hospital afterward to make sure she didn’t have a concussion, but “nothing happened.”

Rodrigo also joked about her fall post a video of the incident on TikTok.

“subtle foreshadowing,” she captioned the clip, seemingly referencing the song “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” from her album “Guts.”

The lyrics of the song read: “I broke a glass, I tripped and fell, I told secrets I wasn’t supposed to tell / I tripped over all my words, I made it weird, I made it worse / Every time I went outside step, it’s social suicide.”

Her “Guts” tour will resume in South America in March before ending in England.
