A weather warning was issued Wednesday morning for heavy rain in the Upper Peninsula

At 8:15 a.m. EDT Wednesday, a report was issued by the National Weather Service for wind gusts through 8:45 a.m. EDT for Keweenaw, Houghton and Baraga counties.

Residents should prepare for wind gusts of up to 55 km/h.

“At 8:15 a.m., Doppler radar tracked gusty showers along a line extending from near Eagle Harbor to Dollar Bay to 9 miles south of South Range. The movement was eastward at a speed of 45 miles per hour,” the weather service said . “Gusty winds can knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.”
