MADISON, Wis. — Milwaukee Common Council President Jose Perez released the following statement in response to Senator’s cancellation. Marco Rubio‘S Republican Party of Wisconsin event:

“Even Marco Rubio is backing down after the hateful, racist attacks on Puerto Ricans Donald Trump‘s meeting. These kinds of divisive comments aren’t just words — they show exactly what Trump’s Project 2025 is about: rolling back rights, hurting families, and emptying our communities. Wisconsin deserves better.”
