On Wednesday, October 23, police surrounded the store after a gun reportedly went off inside.

Police said the woman who did not have the gun had a younger child with her. The woman with the gun and her friend stood next to the other woman and her child.

The child made a comment and police say the woman with the gun felt the comment was directed at her and made a comment to her friend who had overheard the mother. That’s when the verbal argument began and escalated into a physical fight, police said.

A gun was fired during an argument between two women. According to police, no injuries were reported following the shooting.

Police interviewed the women and found that the 24-year-old woman who fired the gun said it was self-defense.

After reviewing surveillance and cellphone video that captured the incident, police said the district attorney’s office determined that the woman who did not fire the gun during the fight had committed a crime.

Police arrested the 38-year-old woman at her Spring Hill home on Tuesday.
