Port Huron man dies from his injuries 11 days after being struck by a vehicle

PORT HURON, MI – A Port Huron man was hit by a truck while crossing the street died eleven days after the accident, police said.

Port Huron police identified the man who died on Tuesday, October 29, as Howard Morse, 57, a city resident who was listed in critical condition immediately after the incident on the morning of October 18.

Police have said the crash occurred on Pine Grove Avenue near Elmwood Street in Port Huron.

Morse was initially transported to McLaren Port Huron Hospital and was later transferred to McLaren Macomb Hospital.

Pine Grove Avenue in the area of ​​the accident – ​​near the Blue Water Bridge entrance gate – was temporarily closed following the accident.

Assistant Chief Jeremy Young said on Wednesday, Oct. 30, that no charges have been filed in connection with the accident, but an investigation remains ongoing.

Police say the driver of the truck remained at the scene after the crash and has been cooperating with investigators.
