North Carolina man arrested in Virginia, charged with murder of DC teen: Police

A North Carolina man was arrested and charged with manslaughter for his alleged connection to a shooting that left a teenager dead in Northwest, DC earlier this year.

On May 18, DC officials said they responded to the 1200 block of V Street for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers said they found a boy, later identified as 16-year-old Devon Sharp, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Devon was taken to a local hospital, where he lost his life two days later, officials said.

Months after the shooting, on October 30, officials said they arrested 26-year-old Tariq White of Raleigh, North Carolina in Virginia. He was charged with second-degree murder while armed.

Officials said White will go through the extradition process and be returned to DC
