Chelsea star Cole Palmer arrives at training in a Royal Mail van after getting a lift from the local postman

CHELSEA goalkeeper Cole Palmer is delivering the goods on and off the pitch – after arriving at training in a Royal Mail van.

The £40 million star shocked teammates by getting a ride from his local postman.

Palmer, 22, had left his car behind Chelsea’training base in Cobham, Surreythe day before when he was driven home by a teammate earlier this month.

Because he had difficulty getting back in, he was offered a lift in the mail van after a conversation with the driver.

A source close to Palmer told The Sun: “Cole is the most normal, down-to-earth guy you could meet and this is typical of him.

“He is a very friendly boy and gets along well with everyone neighborsincluding the postman.

“He didn’t have to think twice when he was offered a lift to the training ground, although his arrival certainly caused quite a stir.

“Not many multi-millionaire stars come to training with a mailman.”

A Chelsea source added: “Cole is so laid back he didn’t understand what all the fuss was about.

“The other players were hysterical about it.

“They thought it was so funny and gave him the stamp of approval for his stunt.

“He is a unique player, both on and off the field.

“Nothing surprises us with him.”
