Grampian man admits raping boy while he slept

State police in Clearfield County say a Grampian man is behind bars after allegedly admitting to sexually assaulting a young boy several years ago.

Troopers say 23-year-old Robert Zortman is accused of raping the victim, who was seven years old at the time, while he slept at a home in Grampian Borough.

According to the affidavit, police were contacted in June by the victim, who is now 15 years old, to report that he had been sexually assaulted by Zortman in 2016.

Investigators say Zortman initially denied the allegations, but during a second police interview he reportedly admitted to raping the boy in his sleep approximately four times.

According to online court recordsZortman faces dozens of charges related to rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault of a child and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse.

He is being held in Clearfield County Prison on $200,000 bail.
