Caretaker accused of stealing $100,000 from an elderly couple in Volusia County

DELAND, Fla. (CBS12) — A home caregiver is accused of exploiting an elderly couple in her care and stealing up to $100,000.

According to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO), Yvonne Wroblewski gained the victims’ trust and used their credit cards and bank accounts.

VSO says she was arrested on a warrant at an internet cafe in DeLand after a deputy saw and recognized her vehicle.

Footage from an officer’s bodycam shows an officer walking into the internet cafe, approaching Wroblewski and then handcuffing her.

The sheriff’s office says Wroblewski has been charged with theft, fraud and elder exploitation. He is being held on a $60,000 bond.
