“Law enforcement must act”: Trump accuses Pennsylvania of “cheating” ahead of Election Day

Donald Trump accused election officials in Pennsylvania of “cheating” after videos of early voting locations cutting off ballot lines in the state went viral.

“Pennsylvania is cheating and getting caught, at massive levels rarely seen before,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social. “REPORT DECREASE TO AUTHORITIES. Law Enforcement must act NOW!”

Trump’s post came after the early closure of the line in Bucks County, Pennsylvania this weekend led to days of outrage. Voters in the state must request a ballot in person if they want to vote early. Unlike polling places, local election offices that handle requests for mail-in ballots are not required to remain open for clear lines.

“The Board of Elections office is not a polling station. In-person mail-in ballots on demand are not early voting. This service is provided as a courtesy to voters because we have the equipment to do so,” county spokesman James O’Malley told the newspaper. Pennsylvania star. “We are happy to accommodate as many voters as possible, but the fact remains that this is not a polling station and our staff must be given time to perform their other duties in furtherance of the election.”

The Trump team successfully indicted to extend the county’s deadline to request a ballot until Friday.

Trump’s posts suggested Pennsylvania is “cheating” its supporters, which appears to be an initial basis for challenging any unfavorable results in a swing state that’s still too close to call in most polls.
