Most obituaries published in the Reading Eagle are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, but we accept submissions from families. Obituaries can be emailed to [email protected].

In addition to the text of the obituary, you can attach any photos you would like to include to this email. Place the text of the obituary in a Word document, a Google Doc, or in the body of the email. The Reading Eagle also requires a way to verify death. Therefore, please include the telephone number of the funeral home or cremation service responsible for the care of the deceased, or a photo of his/her death certificate. We also request that you include your full name, telephone number and address in this email.

All payments by families must be made by credit card. Before we require payment, we will send you proof of the completed obituary. However, the obituary cannot be posted until we have received full payment.

Obituaries may be submitted for any future date but must be received by 3:00 PM the day before publication.
