Suspects in the federal drug investigation are facing new charges in Daviess County

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — After one lengthy federal investigation led to the arrest of 19 Daviess County residents in AugustOwensboro police say new charges have been added and an additional arrest has been made.

OPD says William Stewart was taken into custody Wednesday morning in connection with the federal drug investigation. They say a search warrant was issued and Stewart has been charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Authorities say so far 96 separate federal indictments have been issued, 280 pounds of methamphetamine, 26 pounds of cocaine, a large quantity of fentanyl pills, 34 weapons, including a fully automatic Glock, and $340,000 in cash has been seized.

Additional charges included distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of fentanyl and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person/promoting drug trafficking.
