MARIETTA – Washington State College of Ohio will host its second annual Pumpkin Chuckin’ event on the college campus on Colegate Drive on Saturday, November 9 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This fun and competitive event is inspired by medieval trebuchets to launch pumpkins into the air, aiming for distance or accuracy. Instead of letting leftover jack-o’-lanterns go to waste, participants gather to see how far their pumpkins can soar.

After the excitement, the pumpkins are left for deer and other wildlife on campus, with the remaining fragments composting naturally back into the soil.

There will also be several local food trucks and vendors.

The event will be free and open to the public.
