Teen killed in crash identified | News, sports, jobs

The Altoona Area High School student killed in a crash in Bedford County on Sunday evening has been identified as Keagahn Smith-Price, 16. Smith-Price was one of two people killed in the crash near Breezewood and the second Altoona Area High School student who died in separate parts. crashes on Sunday.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family, Smith-Price had turned 16 the day before the accident. He was a diehard Packers fan, loved football and had played football for Altoona Area.

Second Chance Strays Cat Rescue and Lounge posted on its Facebook page that Smith-Price had volunteered with the rescue and spent countless hours with the cats and managed the front register during business hours.

“Whether it was heavy garbage bags full of dirty cat litter that had to be taken to the dumpster, a suitcase full of cat litter that had to be taken to our cat room, or bags of cat food that had to be taken somewhere else, Keagahn was there with a smile on his face, ready to help,” the post reads, adding that he had “a big heart for animals.”

According to a Facebook post from the East End Youth Baseball League, Smith-Price was a player with the league and the Burgmeier baseball team.

The school district is offering counseling and bereavement services to students and staff following the deaths of the two students, said Paula Foreman, district spokeswoman.

Altoona Area senior Lundyn Treese, 17, was killed in a crash in the city early Sunday morning.
