South Bend Community School Corporation hosts annual school showcase

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The South Bend Community School Corporation hosted its annual school show on Wednesday.

This was a free, large open house where people could learn a little more about South Bend schools and their resources.

The event took place in the gym of the former Brown Community Learning Center from 6 to 8 p.m.

This allowed participants to explore the educational programs available to students in Pre-K through high school.

During the event, there were giveaways and free food available to attendees. People were able to shake hands and meet administrators, teachers and directors from several of their schools.

The district also got to highlight some of its recent achievements, such as graduation rates, improvements in literacy scores at all grade levels and inclusive athletic programs.

“We’re so excited to give people a hands-on look, meet administrators, meet principals, learn more about individual school programming and extracurricular opportunities,” said Andrew Goetz, director of communications for South Bend Schools. “This is their opportunity, and what we have here today is Pre-K through high school, and people can meet and see what we have to offer, and it’s going to be a great opportunity.”

In the coming weeks there will be information evenings for group eight at secondary schools.

Information evenings group 8:
