North Las Vegas man beats driver who crashed his car, Metro report says

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A North Las Vegas man is accused of punching a driver who crashed his car into a wall, according to a Metro Police report.

FOX5 has obtained an arrest report for Timothy Crane. Las Vegas police charged him with attempted murder.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of October 21 in the Northwest Valley. Police said the victim was driving Crane’s Dodge recklessly on N. Fort Apache Road.

The victim was playing donuts until he crashed into a wall. LVMPD says Crane would later find his airmarked car and become angry.

Surveillance video from a witness showed Crane punching the driver, knocking him to the ground and continuing to punch him.

The video showed the victim not moving. Crane then picked him up and dragged him down a street.

At that point, the witness called the police and reported the incident.

When officers arrived, they found the Dodge. Police have learned that the car is registered to Crane.

When police confronted Crane about the incident, he told police he had an argument with the driver of the car, but did not identify the driver because he “didn’t want his friend to get in trouble.”

Crane declined to make a statement.

Police would search the area around the car and locate another witness. The witness said he, along with the victim and Crane, were all coaches. He told police Crane dragged the victim into a house after the fight.

When police confronted Crane again, he was arrested. Crane told police he took the victim to UMC because of his injuries.

The police would confirm that the victim was recovering from a skull fracture in the UMC. Crane refused to talk to police further and asked for a lawyer.

A preliminary hearing for Crane is scheduled for January 28, 2025.
