Land train tips over at Cornwall holiday park – 10 people in hospital | British news

Ten people have been taken to hospital after a land train overturned at a holiday park in Cornwall.

The Looe Land Train company – which runs tours in the coastal region – said it was involved in an accident while carrying passengers at around 7pm on Wednesday.

During an event at Tregoad Holiday Park in St Martin, the land train carriage overturned and “a number of passengers were injured”, the company said.

A land train is a vehicle that can travel on roads and looks like a train.

Welcome to Looe & Polperro, a tourist group in Cornwallposted a statement from the land train company saying it was “devastated” by the incident.

“We understand from emergency services that ten people are being treated in local hospitals,” Looe Land Train said.

“We also understand that none of these injuries are critical or life-threatening.

“At this time the cause of the accident is unknown. No other vehicles were involved.

“We will fully cooperate with any investigation by authorities.”

The land train company said events have been canceled for the remainder of the holidays following the incident.

It added: “We will contact everyone who booked directly to issue a full refund.

“As a family business, we are devastated by the accident and our thoughts are with all those injured or affected.”

Cornwall Live reported that the canceled events included the Ghost Train and Looe’s Trick or Treat for Halloween.

Sky News has contacted Devon and Cornwall Police and the South Western Ambulance Service for comment.
