Fatal scooter accident in West Baltimore

Police are investigating after a youth was killed in a crash while riding a scooter in West Baltimore on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 8:57 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of McCulloh Street for a reported accident.

When officers arrived on scene, they found two young male victims who had suffered injuries from riding a scooter.

The scooter collided with a Jeep, with the driver of that vehicle fleeing the scene on foot.

A passenger in the Jeep remained at the scene and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Both young people were transported to an area hospital by ambulance personnel.

Where one of the young men was pronounced dead by hospital staff some time later.

The second juvenile is in stable condition.

The Accident Investigation Unit arrived on the scene and took control of the investigation.
