One of this year’s most anticipated sequels, Wallace and Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl just received rave reviews from critics.

The quirky claymation duo, made up of eccentric cheese-loving inventor Wallace (played by Ben Whitehead, replacing Peter Sallis) and his silent dog Gromit, will finally return to our screens after more than 15 years since their last escapade, A Matter of Loaf. and Death.

In this new feature-length adventure, Gromit worries that his master is becoming too dependent on his inventions when he creates a clever gnome with artificial intelligence that goes rogue.

Wallace’s faithful dog, Gromit, must come to his rescue when a villainous character from their past – the criminal penguin mastermind Feathers McGraw from The Wrong Pants – is revealed as the orchestrator of another evil plot.

Currently, the film has a coveted 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 26 reviews and is being hailed as one of the best animated films of the year, reports the mirror.

“The charm, the laughs and now their poignant satire on AI and technology dependency will strike many with verisimilitude yet total entertainment. The return of Feathers McGraw lives up to its villainy!”

Clarisse Loughrey of the Independent commented, “Vengeance Most Fowl is proof that the traditional can still thrive, not just in how a film looks, but even in the barrage of puns and corny dad jokes.”

Philip De Semlyen of Time Out commented: “It’s the two characters without any dialogue, Gromit and Feathers, who steal the show – a pair of cinema-style silent adversaries sparring in another joyfully nostalgic Aardman caper.”

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl premieres on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Wednesday 25 December before being released on Netflix on Friday 1 January.
