DEVELOPERS WIN WORLD SERIES

The Dodgers captured their eighth World Series title in franchise history after defeating the New York Yankees 7-6 in Game 5.

Trailing by five in the fifth, the Dodgers took full advantage of an Aaron Judge error and a misplay between Anthony Rizzo and Gerrit Cole to score five runs. The rally came after the Yankee bats chased Jack Flaherty early in the game – with the former Harvard Westlake pitcher giving up back-to-back home runs to New York’s Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the first inning. next inning.

The Yankees then added their fifth run on a homerun by Giancarlo Stanton in the third inning. Their sixth and final run comes from an RBI sacrifice fly by Giancarlo Stanton to score Juan Soto.

The Dodgers, who lead the best-of-7 game series 3-1, are one win away from winning their first World Series since 2020, the eighth in franchise history. In addition to fighting for the Commissioner’s Trophy, a Dodger win means Los Angeles will have an in-person World Series parade for the first time since 1988.

When the Dodgers last won the Fall Classic in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Rays in the COVID-19 bubble in Arlington, Texas, fans at home in Southern California were deprived of an in-person parade because of the pandemic.
