Rasmussen election integrity poll shows half of voters distrust election officials

A new one An election integrity poll by Rasmussen shows that nearly half of voters suspect election officials are involved in cheating. The poll also found that half of respondents believe such acts should be punished criminally.

Rasmussen Reports announced the results in a post on Thursday. The three-question poll, conducted between October 27 and 29, asked 1,854 likely voters whether they think election workers and officials enabled fraud, how likely it is that those who engage in election fraud will be held criminally accountable called, and what the punishment should be for those found guilty of such charges.

The investigation follows claims that a “glitch” led to a voting report in Michigan that showed multiple people casting ballots under the name of one voter. A spokesperson for the Michigan Secretary of State’s office, according to the New York Timessaid the report was incorrect and has since been resolved.

Also this week, a University of Michigan student from China is accused of voting illegally. according to The Detroit News. The student is legally resident in the US, but is not a citizen. The Michigan Secretary of State’s office did not identify the student, but said he falsely claimed to be a U.S. citizen when he registered to vote using his UM student identification and other documentation showing his residence in Ann Arbor turns out.
