Pedestrian killed by hit-and-run driver in Midway District

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Midway District Wednesday evening, San Diego police said.

The 40-year-old woman was walking in a crosswalk on Camino Del Rio West at Kurtz Street around 9:30 p.m. when she was struck by a northbound vehicle, police said. The driver had a green light and the pedestrian had a red signal when she crossed, police said.

The driver, described only as being in a dark-colored vehicle, fled the scene.

The pedestrian, whose name was not released, died.

The crash is under investigation.
