First Alert Weather: Unseasonably warm and showers on Halloween night

ROCHESTER, NY – It will be a windy and unseasonably warm Halloween with temperatures reaching 80 degrees and winds gusting up to 30 miles per hour on Thursday.

Depending on the cloud cover and how strong the southwest wind is, it could become even warmer. The Halloween temperature record in Rochester is 80 degrees. Maybe we’ll see another draw like Wednesday.

The News10NBC weather team is closely monitoring a cold front that will bring rain to the area Thursday night. The timing looks promising at the moment as showers are not expected to start until between 7pm and 8pm. However, be sure to stay tuned for updates throughout the day as the cold front approaches.

It will be cloudy, very windy and drop back to more seasonal temperatures Friday after the cold front passes. Wind speeds will be between 20 and 35 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour just before sunrise. Temperatures will reach the low 50s.

The weekend should be dry with partly sunny to mostly cloudy skies and high temperatures in the low 50s. There is then a constant chance of showers in the first half of next week.

Be sure to stay tuned to News10 NBC for more updates on Thursday evening’s showers.
