If elected, what steps will you take to help the communities you serve recover from Tropical Storm Helene? If elected, I will prioritize a rapid recovery from Tropical Storm Helene by working with state and federal officials to secure emergency funding for reconstruction. I will advocate for waiving permit fees to ease the financial burden on residents and temporarily suspending RV enforcement to provide immediate shelter options. In addition, I will promote partnerships with the private sector to accelerate recovery and ensure access to resources and support. Regular community meetings keep residents informed and engaged during the recovery process.

What is the most important issue you want to make progress on during your term? Explain. My main theme is preserving the unique mountains and farmlands of Henderson County. To combat urban sprawl, I will advocate for the protection and expansion of green spaces and waterways to preserve our natural beauty. We must halt development in critical areas to preserve the character of our community. In addition, I will work to simplify our land development code and eliminate unnecessary special use permits, making it easier for residents to participate in responsible development while prioritizing environmental protection. Together we can create a sustainable future for our beloved landscapes.

The ability of families and individuals to own homes or rent apartments has been hampered in recent years. If you were elected, how would you tackle the housing crisis?. To address the housing crisis, I will prioritize affordable housing solutions that ensure long-term residents are not forced to leave. By working with developers, we can focus on infrastructure expansion and the adaptive reuse of older buildings, utilizing existing infrastructure and wide roads to increase housing supply. This approach not only preserves community character, but also creates diverse, affordable options for all residents. By fostering collaboration with developers and local stakeholders, we can build a sustainable housing strategy that benefits both current residents and future generations.
