Candidate wants to clean up elections? He needs to clean up his road rage first

The first thing you’ll learn if you go to the Republican’s campaign website in hopes of becoming Navajo County Recorder is that he loves God.

“First and foremost, I love our Lord Jesus Christ and will never substitute Him for anything else,” Timothy Jordan writes.

Jordan, who is challenging Navajo County Recorder Michael Sample, was involved in one incident on the road near a Christian school in Show Low last week.

“That being said,” Jordan continued on his website, “I will not cheat, lack integrity, compromise, take bribes, accept anything that would violate my moral principles….”

Jordan told Show Low police he was speeding and ran a stop sign, then assaulted the teenage occupants of another vehicle and shouted profanities at them.

The other driver, he continued, tried to run him off the road and prevent him from driving into the school. The teens then got out and “displayed guns” before fleeing the scene, he told police.

“I will remain true to what is right and what I believe is in the best interest of all communities within Navajo County as a whole,” Jordan continued on his website.

Opinion: Democratic office shooter is a wake-up call

However, witnesses and surveillance video at the school told a different story about the Oct. 23 incident, and police said Jordan eventually admitted he had lied.

It turns out he was the one who pulled a gun and approached the teens’ vehicle, prompting them to flee “out of fear for their safety,” according to the police report.

He says he wants to clean up voter fraud

Jordan hopes to win the recorder’s race so he can clean up all the voter fraud uncovered so far in the elections in this northeastern Arizona county.

“There is a lot of evil going on. Lots of cheating…,” he said during a Candidate forum. “Integrity is important in the election system, and it is super important in leadership roles.”

White Mountain Christian Academy went into lockdown during last week’s road rage incident.

“Timothy’s vulgar language and the sound of their screeching tires were heard by a worker who was inside the school,” the police report said. “The worker said she was concerned about the language because the school was a Christian school.”

Jordan has said he plans to “fight to get our country back where it needs to be.”

“We have to win for America,” he said during the candidates forum in May. “Our children and their children depend on it. It echoes into eternity. Some people say you shouldn’t bring Jesus into politics, but if you don’t have Jesus, you don’t win.”

Jordan was arrested last week and charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, including a weapons violation, and false reporting, a misdemeanor. He’s out of jail on $3,500 bond.
