Video: Suspect tells Florida deputy to lock doors before stealing cruiser

A suspect who told Florida officers to keep their doors locked because he liked to steal cars followed his warning as he took off in a cruiser.

The brazen theft occurred when a Marion County Sheriff’s Office corporal responded to a suspicious incident in Ocala, WFTV-TV Reports. At the scene, a man – identified as James Brady, 41 – told the corporal that he had been on drugs and needed medical attention.

While asking for help, Brady also issued a curious warning.

‘You better lock your doors. I like stealing cars. Just ask your boss,” he said.

Brady jumped up from lying on the grass and made a break for the cruiser. Once in the vehicle, he was able to take off and lead officers on a chase.

The pursuit ended outside Ocala when a deputy performed a PIT maneuver on the suspect’s vehicle. Brady was taken into custody and booked into jail.
