Former Juve star insists Motta has lived up to expectations so far

Juve, traditionally a Serie A powerhouse, started the season with the clear expectation of challenging for the league title. However, a series draw, most recently against Parmahas left fans concerned about the club’s chances of challenging at the top of the table. A series of draws could be costly in the title race, where three points are crucial, and too many dropped points could jeopardize Juventus’ aim of finishing in the top four. This has led some fans and pundits to wonder if the team is making progress or just treading water.

Juventus signs with Parma

After the Parma match, former Juventus player Davide Lanzafame defended Motta’s approach, urging patience and highlighting the progress made. As reported by TuttojuveLanzafame said: “I really like his philosophy, I think the start of the season is in line with expectations given a new team. There is a lot of room for improvement; Juventus remains one of the big teams that has the most. From Yildiz and up to Savona and Mbangula. As a spectator, Motta is doing a great job for me.”

Lanzafame’s comments highlight Motta’s youth-oriented philosophy, with a focus on developing emerging talents such as Yildiz, Savona and Mbangula. This approach is intended to ensure long-term success, even if the immediate results are a combination of mixed results and growing pains. For many fans, however, the frequent draws are reminiscent of the frustrations of last season, making it difficult to see tangible progress. While Motta’s emphasis on youth development and adaptability reflects a shift in the club’s approach, Juventus will need to convert more of these draws into wins to fulfill their title aspirations and satisfy supporters eager to return to the the club’s winning ways.
