Elizabeth City man arrested for child pornography

PASQUOTANK COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – An Eastern Carolina man is behind bars after officers say he is under investigation for possession of child pornography.

The Pasquotank Sheriff’s Office says Cody Baker was arrested Monday at his home on Cedar Street in Elizabeth City.

Baker, 22, was issued six arrest warrants for felony second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

Baker was initially given a $30,000 bond. However, officers say they found cellphones, guns, ammunition, drug paraphernalia, several controlled substances, including marijuana and psilocybin, and $3,437 after raiding his home and two more homes on Parkers Lane.

Baker’s bond was increased to $60,000.00 due to the six misdemeanor warrants.

Deputies say Baker was also served with additional warrants for a domestic violence protective order violation and was taken into custody for 48 hours.

Baker is currently in Albemarle Jail on a $105,000.00 bond.

Deputies say there are likely more charges in this ongoing investigation.
