Dead body found along nearby riverbank in Daviess Co.

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) – Officials with the Owensboro Police Department say a body was found in Daviess County on Wednesday.

While police were responding to an unrelated call at 4:30 p.m., a man walking his dog approached officers and told them he had found a body along the nearby riverbank.

Officers found a deceased man in a nearby wooded area next to the riverbank.

According to a news release, the body was in advanced stages of decomposition when it was located.

The body was transported to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Officials say at this time there is no evidence of foul play, but the medical examiner’s results are still pending.

The identity of the person found is still unknown.

This is an ongoing investigation.
