Mystery House in West Palm Beach

Located in Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds, the Riddle House It is said to be full of ghosts.

In the early 20th century, it was home to the gatekeeper of a West Palm Beach cemetery. Years later it was moved and became part of the village. After the move, workers swore their tools were mysteriously moved, and one man claimed a tool hit someone in the head.

Visitors reportedly saw a boy playing in a bedroom and a woman getting ready for bed.

Blue Anchor Pub in Delray Beach

This Delray Beach Pub is said to be haunted by the ghost of Bertha Starkey, a British woman gruesomely stabbed to death by a jealous husband in a pub in 19th century London.

Her ghost haunted the original pub, built on Chancery Lane in 1865, until the owners pulled it down. The bar’s facade and interior were moved to Delray Beach from London in the 1990s.

Over the years, longtime employees have seen and heard strange and inexplicable things.

Lake Worth Playhouse

The ghost of Lucian Oakley, the theater’s co-founder and a suicide victim, is said to have been seen in mirrors, moving heavy objects and leaving a giant handprint on the theater’s walls. Lake Worth Playhouse.

The haunted Colony Hotel in Palm Beach

Located in Delray Beach, this hotel built in 1926 is said to be haunted by its early owners. Visitors have reported seeing shadows and pulsating lights and hearing unexplained noises.

The haunted Gulfstream Hotel in Lake Worth Beach

Located in Lake Worth, this historic 1920s hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of a six-year-old girl. When the hotel opened, she allegedly turned on the TVs, flickered the lights and played with the elevators.

The hotel has been closed for years and a developer has promised to give it a $70 million facelift.

Jonathan Dickinson State Park (Martin County)

Nicknamed the ‘Wildman of Loxahatchee’, Vince ‘Trapper’ Nelson is the identity of the ghost said to be roaming Jonathan Dickinson State Park. After moving to the area in the 1930s, Trapper eventually amassed 858 acres of land along the Loxahatchee River. In 1968, Trapper was found dead of a shotgun wound. A coroner ruled it a suicide, but some who knew of his clashes with locals believed he had been murdered. After his death, the state acquired his land and in 1970 it became part of Jonathan Dickinson State Park.

Visitors can canoe along the Loxahatchee River to tour its cabins, docks and chicken shacks.
