Anna Kendrick slams director for embarrassing her in front of 100 extras on set: ‘f–k you’

Anna Kendrick had some nice words for an unnamed director with whom she had a “dirty” experience.

The “Pitch Perfect” star recalled the time a director once embarrassed her on the set of a movie in front of a hundred extras during her recent appearance on Monday’s episode Josh Horowitz’s ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast.

The incident took place after the filmmaker suggested improvising one of her scenes.

After she completed the task, he showed he was unimpressed by mocking her with a snide comment, she revealed.

“I did it and then the director called Cut and came over and said, again in front of a hundred extras, ‘Whew, let’s get back to the script!’” she recalled during the live taping.

The actress was quick to label the situation as a “very specific power move,” saying the director’s intention was to “embarrass” her and “gain dominance.”

“It was very annoying,” added Kendrick, who recently made her directorial debut and starred in Netflix’s “Woman of the Hour.”

Despite the director’s rude comments about her improvised scene, the moment ended up in a trailer for the film.

“And then the thing I improved ended up in the trailer,” Kendrick said on the podcast. “So, f-k you!”

In her new film, Kendrick portrays Cheryl Bradshaw – an unsuspecting woman who ended up on a date with serial killer Rodney Alcala after they both starred in an episode of ‘The Dating Game’.

The film is based on the true story of Alcala, who was later recognized as the Dating Game Killer.

Alcala, who is played by Daniel Zovatto in the film, was arrested in 1979. Police linked him to the deaths of at least seven women, but he is believed to have murdered up to 130 people.

He was convicted of the murders of four women and a twelve-year-old girl, but pleaded not guilty. Alcala was sentenced to death and died of natural causes on July 24, 2021 at the age of 77 while on death row in California.

“Woman of the Hour” is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
