Trump holds campaign rally in Albuquerque

Even before the sun rose, people came from far and wide. Some braved the cold and a long walk to get the best spot.

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Even before the sun rose, people came from far and wide. Some braved the cold and a long walk to get the best spot.

‘I slept for three hours. I left Cloudcroft New Mexico at 2:30 PM and I’m here.

Former President Donald Trump landed at the Albuquerque International Sunport five days before Election Day and spent three hours in New Mexico. Once on the ground, Trump spent most of his time making a final pitch to voters in New Mexico.

“We can win New Mexico. We can win New Mexico,” Trump said.

It was clear the former president knows what issues New Mexico voters care about.

“You have one of the worst border problems of any state in America, and I’m the only one who knows how to fix it,” Trump said.

According to his speech, that plan includes the largest deportation program in U.S. history and much tougher penalties for migrants accused of serious crimes.

“I am here by calling for the death penalty for any migrant who kills an American citizen or law enforcement officer,” Trump said.

The former president told New Mexicans he also has an inflation plan.

“On day one, I will sign an executive order directing every federal agency to immediately eliminate any burdensome regulations that drive up the cost of goods,” Trump said.

He suggested New Mexico’s oil and gas industry also has a role to play.

“We have to get those costs down. And I’m going to take them down, you know, I’m going to take them down. We’re going to drill, baby drill. We’re going to drill, baby drill. Bring the energy down,” Trump said.

Trump positioned the lucrative oil and gas industry as a reason not to vote for his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

“It will destroy more than 90,000 oil and gas jobs in New Mexico. They will bring your state, your state back to a level of poverty,” Trump said.

Despite criticizing Harris for talking about him at her campaign rallies, the former president spent a lot of time talking about her.

‘Everything Kamala says is a lie. Kamala Harris is a low IQ individual,” Trump said.

Trump wasn’t afraid to reveal why he made a stop in New Mexico just five days before the election.

“We are especially pleased with the support from record numbers of Hispanic Americans and Latinos. Here in New Mexico, we’re going to win a record share of the Hispanic vote, we’re going to win,” Trump said.

The former president spoke for about 90 minutes. You can watch his entire speech here.
