YTL PowerSeraya Group CEO John Ng on Jurong Island’s upcoming hydrogen-ready power plant

Jurong Island’s upcoming hydrogen power plant marks a major step forward in Singapore’s sustainability efforts. It will generate 600 megawatts of cleaner energy, with a third less CO2 emissions than natural gas. Energy supplier YTL PowerSeraya has invested S$800 million in the new factory, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2027. YTL PowerSeraya added that its effectiveness depends on cooperation between different jurisdictions, which is essential for building the necessary systems to support the use of green hydrogen.
