Garrett Wilson makes a one-handed touchdown catch

While much of the focus has been on new teammate Davante Adams, Garrett Wilson reminded the world on Thursday exactly what he can do.

New York Jets receiver Wilson delivered a catch of the year (or perhaps catch of the century) candidate against the Houston Texans in Week 9. In the fourth quarter, with the Jets facing 3rd-and-19 from the Texans’ 26-yard line, Wilson went one-on-one up against Houston cornerback Kamari Lassiter, and Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers made it sound for him in the end zone .

In what can only be described as a pure work of Renaissance art, Wilson jumped high and reached for the ball with just his right hand… and somehow landed with it for the touchdown. The play was initially ruled an incomplete pass (with the officials seemingly in as much disbelief as the rest of us) before being ruled a touchdown after the Jets challenged the ruling.

Here is the breathtaking video.

A few other angles showed just how absurd Wilson’s grab was.

All the superlatives in the English language wouldn’t be enough to describe that Wilson catch. It looked just like the Jumpman logo there. Wow!

Wilson’s mythical grab ultimately became hugely important as it gave the Jets a 14-10 lead, which they never relinquished before winning 21-13. It’s safe to say the former Offensive Rookie of the Year more than made up for it stupid play that another Jets receiver made earlier in the game.
