A man has been arrested and charged with vehicular assault in connection with a crash earlier this month.

Jacob Konig, 42, is charged with assault while driving recklessly, reckless driving, failure to notify police of an accident, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, careless driving causing bodily harm and speed exceeding than 65 kilometers per hour. hours above the limit.

According to a news release from the Grand Junction Police Department, the crash occurred just after 9 p.m. on Oct. 10.

The passenger in the vehicle, 36-year-old Nichole Melvin, is charged as an accomplice in the case.

Both Konig and Melvin turned themselves in at the Mesa County Jail early Wednesday morning.
