Las Vegas man cuts woman with large machete

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – A Las Vegas man is facing two counts of attempted murder and assault after brandishing a large machete at a couple, police say.

FOX5 has obtained an arrest report for Jose Manuel Manduley Deagustini. The incident happened on the afternoon of October 17 near Sahara Avenue and Paradise Road.

A couple was at a gas station to buy drinks but later got into an argument.

A woman walked away from the fight and into an alley. According to the arrest report, Deagustini was parked in the alley with a Chevrolet Equinox.

According to witnesses and surveillance footage, Deagustini was seen approaching the woman in the alley. When the woman did not respond, he began to become aggressive.

The couple tried to get away from him. Police said he started throwing rocks and used his car to block the alley’s exit.

Deagustini exited his car with a large machete and began waving it at the couple. The woman was cut several times.

The two managed to escape, obtain medical supplies and report the crime. A witness also called 911 and reported the incident.

Las Vegas police officers were able to positively identify the suspect through a photo lineup, DNA and vehicle registration.

According to the report, this is not the first incident for Deagustini. He previously chased people with a machete in Las Vegas on June 7 this year.
