Brian Sorensen press conference: Everton vs Chelsea preview

Everton boss Brian Sorensen has spoken to the media ahead of Sunday’s Women’s Super League match against Chelsea at Goodison Park (kick-off 18:45 GMT).

On injuries, Sorensen said: “It wasn’t the best international period for us” and some players need to be assessed.
He does not think Clare Wheeler will be available on Sunday due to illness.
Asked about Everton’s struggles in front of goal, Sorensen said: “That’s something we have to solve”.
He added: “I think we have the players in the squad to do it (score), but the ones we have taken out (injured), there is a big, big quality missing”.
The Everton boss hopes his side can get ‘four or six’ points from the upcoming games before the next international window.
On Megan Finnigan, Sorensen said she has struggled with injury problems, but added: “She’s a true Blues and Evertonian and she loves the club, and she’s a really good captain.”
Chelsea have an “unreal” squad and winning three points against them on Sunday will be “the biggest ask”.
Sorensen said: “We have to be at our best, just like at Emirates” when they held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw earlier this season.
