Illegal migrant arrested for allegedly raping 5-year-old girl on Long Island: police

An illegal migrant who failed to appear at his immigration hearing after being let go at the border has been arrested for allegedly raping a 5-year-old girl on Long Island, police said.

Wilson Castillo Diaz, 26, is accused of attacking the little girl on Oct. 16, according to Nassau County police.

Details about the alleged rape — including Diaz’s relationship with the girl and where it occurred — were not immediately available.

The child was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation after the alleged attack, police said.

Diaz, who lived in Westbury, illegally entered the U.S. near Rio Grande, Texas, in April 2014, according to police.

He was taken into custody by US border agents but was later released after receiving a summons to appear before an immigration judge.

Diaz subsequently failed to show up for the immigration court hearing, according to police.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement have already been notified of his recent arrest, police said, without saying which country the suspect was originally from.

Diaz was indicted last Wednesday on a slew of charges, including rape, attempted rape and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was held on a $200,000 bond.
